It all depens on what your situation is. Yonkers is a beautiful city, location is key. Also one of the lower taxes in Westchester county. Houses is Yonkers, since more affordable than the rest of the county, are still selling.

I live in Yonkers. FYI, Yonkers is an Inc. city. When you sell you have to pay Yonkers 3%, no if, ands, or buts. Yonkers is located 30 minutes north of NYC, is easy to get into the city via Metro North on the Husdon side and the Harlem side (a 40 minute commute). Yonkers DO NOT have the safest schools and reports of a 50% graduation rate, which is horrible! There are a lot of private schools, if family plays a part in this. There are many restaurants and shopping within 5 minutes no matter which way you go.Â
