Make sure you also check the public records. Zillow, Trulis and all other sites take their info from county public records.

If your property is incorrectly identified in terms of configurations, i.e. bedrooms, baths and square footage, you can go to the county records office. Request that it be changed. If there was work done with permits, or if you have a copy of an appraisal report showing the correct info, bring those documents as well.

They will send someone to your property to physically verify and measure, after which they will make the change.

Just be aware...that if there is unpermitted work, or if your house is bigger than what it shows (and therefore assessed as a smaller property) this may make a difference in  how you are taxed.

By the same token, when you are ready to sell, you can prove that it's a larger property because of the corrected info on public records.

Good luck

Hi user3885203 -

You can claim your property to correct the information about your house. Go to home details page and click "Claim your home." Once you have claimed the ownership of your home, go to "EDIT" drop down menu and select the appropriate feature to edit.

Thank you,

Reimond
