credit repair soft delete?

I have been working with a credit repair company, in the past few months i recieved notice from experian that 4 negative accounts including a "foreclosure redeemed" was removed from my credit report. i have been told these accounts may reappear if they get verified later. and that they may be just soft deletes.. what is a soft delete as apposed to a delete

The gentleman below is spot on. Most credit specialist know how to work the system so the creditors will temporaly delete the account knowing the penalties for having reported erroneous information especially if the consumers are going through a home loan. The creditors are afraid that you will come back and sue them in the event  your home loan was denied based on incorrect information.

The basic difference as you've already discovered is that they aren't permanent. A lot of times this happens while accounts are being investigated further for validation. This happens a lot of with past mortgage liens. But if you have written evidence from the creditors in question that the accounts will be corrected and or deleted than having them permanently removed shouldn't be difficult.
