FEMA has flood maps online by address here and they also have explanations of what the designations mean here.
If you are considering flood insurance you should know that 70% of the homes that flood each year do not lie in designated flood areas so it is always smart to ask locals or to look up past floods in local papers/sources to find areas that might be at risk.

Certainly contact your insurance company. They would be a good source for the right answer. They will know the just what you will need. Since all regions and areas are different, call your local agent. They specialize in your area and know what the FEMA flood maps say regarding your home. I would get it from them first.

FEMA is the source and that is what the insurance company will go by.
