good credit (730's) want small mortgage, wife has home in short sale can I qualify?

My wife has home in short sale process. I want to know if there is anyway I can qualify for small mortgage with just my income? I am not on loan but did live at that address. Atleast 20% down, employed 6+ years same job, low debt.
