Another way to dig any dirt on a house is to talk to neighbors...

That's a question we don't get every day. If the house is for sale, the owners must disclose any death occurring on the property that was not a result of natural causes, suicide or accident unrelated to the condition of the property.

According to the real estate laws of Texas:

"A seller or seller's agent shall have no duty to make a disclosure or release information related to whether a death by natural causes, suicide, or accident unrelated to the condition of the property occurred on the property."

So, if a murder occurred on the property, the sellers must disclose it to any potential buyer. If someone died on the property from an accident, it depends on the cause. For example if someone died of electrocution and the individual caused the death (like dropping a live wire in water) it is an accident and it doesn't have to be disclosed. If someone died from electrocution due to faulty wiring, it must be disclosed because it is considered caused by home.

Foreclosured homed and estate sales are exempt from providing a disclosure. You would need to contact the owners or the listing agent for the disclosure notice.
