homeowners insurance

I've been trying to get a quote to see how much my insurance will be on a home in Buffalo, so far I've been able to get two quotes, one was a teaser and the other was a lot higher than what I'm used to and then they tacked on about 40% because I don't have a car to insure. Part of what I like about Buffalo is that homes a reasonable and it's a great place to live without a car, but what's up with the insurance?

You need to call as many places as possible.  Call some of the big agencies and also call some of the smaller, local providers.  Ask your relatives who they use.  Ask your neighbors.  Get as many quotes as possible.  Don't get discouraged...just keep trying.

You may qualify for some discounts.  If you are putting in an alarm for instance, a lot of times they will give you a slight discount.
