There are horse properties at various places throughout Boulder County.  There also is a great collection of 1.5- to 3-acre properties in the north part of Broomfield, which used to be a part of Boulder County, but broke off several years ago.  A lot depends on what you can spend. Many of the older Broomfield properties can be had for $500k and up. On the other end of the scale are some huge Boulder County locations that would be several million dollars.

There are some horse-zoned properties in the Arvada area if you wish to be closer to the big city. Otherwise, there are many areas north and west of Denver (Longmont, Evergreen, Golden, etc.) that have a number of available properties.

I urge you to find a specialist in horse properties for that area.  The ins and outs of this type of property is not well suited for city slickers.  With wells, septics, property lines and so on...it is best to find an expert. So do your due diligence and seek one out.  Good luck.

You can search the public Mls at your leisure through my website. You can search by acreage, horse facilities including barns and arenas if you'd like to get down to details. I hope this is helpful! [content removed by Zillow moderator]

Karen-

What area are you interested in specifically, Boulder or just generally northern Colorado?   Probably best bet is to narrow down a general area then select an agent who specializes in the area.  From there tell him/her you are interested in horse properties and they can set you up to receive email listings in the area that match your criteria while your'e still out east.

There would be many options for horse properties north and north east of Boulder (including beyond Longmont).   If you are looking at Colorado more generally (you posted in the Boulder section), let us know.
