Would it surprise you if I say: "ask an experienced Realtor"? This is the only RIGHT thing to do, believe me. We are not only facilitating the sale and/or purchase of a home, we are PROFESSIONALS. And as such we are more than happy (at least most of us is) to tell you how much your house is worth TODAY.I do it for free, not because this service is worth nothing, but because I consider it a part of my obligation to the public. It may change to a business relationship or it may not...That's not the point!
So stop asking the WWW, your neighborhood grocer, your friends and relatives, how much is your home worth; stop driving around and comparing homes in "drive-by-shooting method", STOP!
Check Zillow for an agent in your area, check his/her credentials and feedback and ASK for an evaluation.
If it does not work, than you found the wrong person...There are so many Realtors really dedicated to their profession, you should have only the best!
Good Luck!

If your home is in a subdivision where the properties are relatively uniform Zillow is a good bet. But, if the homes in your neighborhood vary greatly in age, square footage, lot size and condition it would be best to have a Realtor give you an idea of what the market value is, to make sure to compare apples to apples. Valuation models are appropriate when the data is mostly uniform, however when there is a high degree of variability it is not as reliable. AVMs do not know the nuances of different neighborhoods, it is recommended to rely on an expert's opinion when there is a lot of variety and the prices vary widely in an area. It our area homes next door to each other can vary in price by more than $1M. Valuation models are not reliable.

In add to SunnyViews, it won't hurt if you research your home value by your own to get more idea by click on the link http://www.zillow.com , type your address in the Find homes box then hit the GO button.
But don't click on the thumb-up, it doesn't work, I tried.

Zillow has some recent sales and medians available by area, but your best bet for getting an estimate on your home based on current market trends and sales is to call a local agent in your area and ask them for a ballpark value or CMA. Most are happy to help.
how can i determine the market value of my home?
