I take it you mean "lien".  It appears that this house may have been foreclosed on recently.  If so, the lienholder who foreclosed generally has first access to any funds obtained through foreclosure, then it goes by seniority of liens.  If that is not the case, then the lien must be satisfied if it is still good, prior to transfer of title.  Consult with an attorney who can research the property and determine what is going on.
