how can zillow post a estimate in the news paper about homes underwater if they havnt quieried mortg

In the Press Democrat on Aug 11th their ran a add stating that homes underwater had decreased dramatically. Not sure of actual totals. How can they state those facts as facts if they havnt talked with each and every one of us who are still in deep - - - - ! with their mortgages. They also seem to denote the fact that many whom had their homes foreclosed or short sold are out in the cold and their condition remains unfair and not tolerable. Are we to just take whats out their ( foreclosure  and short sale )  as options and let it be?It seems like thats exactly what they are doing.Who are They? The Banks,The Governmant,The news papers for reporting false facts.Realestate salesman who continue business as usual disregarding the circumstances of all of those folks who lost ,lost ,lost?

The original article is here. You have a point, but I think it is good news that more homeowners are not going underwater every month. It means that there is hope for those that are to start regaining some value as the market stabilizes or at least not lose any more value from high numbers or foreclosures.
