"I assume you want to create a Zestimate from Zillow.  You can do the following:  1. Enter your address in the search box, then "Go"  2. Click the address link  3. Then click on "Create an estimate." Then, you have the choice to make it public or keep it private.  You can also print off a copy for your files."

do you put your whole address in, and is the area you put it in at the top left next to the "questions, keywords, topics" box. where it says "neighborhood, city, or state" i put my whole address in that box including zip, then clicked go. I see no address link anywhere.

An estimate of value is a ball park guess. There are many levels f estimating used in Real Estate today.

There's a Comparable Market Analysis (CMA), a Broker's Price Opinion (CMA), and there are Appraisals.

Each one gets more and more specific when it uses similar home sales to the subject property and then adds or subtracts from the comparable properties to account for differences. The more experience a professional has, the better they understand the values that each feature contributes to a property. Items such as garages square footage, basement, finished areas, land size, property frontage, amenities, and functional age (amount of remodeling done) all contribute or diminish to value.
