I would like to apply for the Harp program but don't know what type of loan I have? How do I find out?  Also, what banks are doing the Harp programs?

You can call your current loan servicer and they should be able to tell you what type of loan you have. Also ask them if they can tell you whether or not you have PMI.

There is a site here where you can find out more about HARP and see if you might be eligible. They have a Fannie/Freddie lookup tool on that site too.

Hi,

As has been said before, the best way to start is to go to:
www.fanniemae.com, and www.freddiemac.com. If your loan does not show as one of the two, call your current lender to be sure. The rules vary a bit between Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Contact me for a free 3 page analysis of your options.

Good Luck!

Start by looking at the first page of your mortgage doc., if you can not find it call the person that did your loan, sometimes they are eaiser to reach than your  actual lender.  Hope that works for you.

It's probably the easiest would be to check with your current lender, but you can also try looking online... at

www.fanniemae.com www.freddiemac.com

Thank you
