bruceinny,

The first answer by Robin pretty much covers it, unless you want to pay for an appraisal. On the other hand, if all you're wanting is a zestimate from Zillow, click here for instructions.

Whether buying or selling a home a good Comparative Market Analysis (CMA) is a great way of knowing how to make an offer or price your home.  Hiring a good realtor can save you money in the end.  I have referred realtor when people are moo-ving to another city.  Yes, I get a referral but you get an agent who is holding them accountable.  It has been a good experience for me and my client.

Dear Bruce,
It all depends weather the property is listed for sale or if you are the owner. The best place to start is to contact a RE Broker and ask for the market value.

Hi Bruce,

The best thing to do is to contact a Realtor and have them do a CMA (Comparative Market Analysis) of your property.  They will have comparables of active, conditional contract, pending and sold properties that are similar to your property in your tax district.  The service is free.
