how do I get Zillow to update the "public" information on my home?

Zillow uses outdated "public information" from county auditor for my home.  Our two acres site had a 1840 home demolished for a new custom home in 2004.  The public information was updated in 2004 when we built a new custom home on this site.  Yet Zillow keeps using the old 1840's home as the size and age for creating zillow estimate.  How do I get in contact with Zillow to fix this??

There are two things you can do:

1. You can flag the home and report the problem to Zillow.

2. You can claim the home and update the data.

The Zestimate is basically a computer using the local public data on hand, as well as local sales to determine a value on your home.   With unusual properties, the Zestimate can be very inaccurate.   (I live in an unusual home, and my Zestimate is way off).  I don't really concern myself with the Zestimate, as it is not relevant to the market value of my home, to what my home would appraise for, to the taxable value of my home, etc.
To get the best estimate as to real value, I would recommend getting a CMA from a local real estate agent.  Or you could hire an appraiser, if you like.
