You release first the ownership from the property by following these steps:
1. Log on to your Zillow account.
2. Click on My Zillow tab, go to your Favorite Homes and click on the link to the property.
3. On the Home Details Page, click on "... you have claimed this home" link, and then the "Release ownership of this home" link. You will then need to sign in and then you will be taken to the "Release Claimed Ownership" page where you can review the choices and select a solution that fits your situation.
Once you have released the ownership, go back to My Zillow, then Favorite Homes and click on Remove Favorite.
