how do i find out if property has any leins on it

my  friends was getting a manufactured home when his grand ma passed on (the deed was in his grand mas and his mothers name) now his mom is saying that she will just put his name on the deed . is there anyway to find out if the property has leins on it?

Well it depends on witch type of liens they are. The best place to start would be the county office most
county's record any lien that is filed on the property. Another place would be the city for any city liens that are placed on the property. You can also contact the title company that insured the title on the house.
I am sure they would be more then happy to help. Plus if your are transferring the deed into your name you want to make sure you get that tile insured again since its changing ownership.

They are public record and can be found at the tax office, county office and/or through a title search through a title company.
