Go to your county tax assessors office and search the records. Many are on-line in this new age of computers !

Hi ReadyC

In most CT towns, you can search your town hall records online for free. An alternative would be to hire a local RE attny who has access to a title search firm's records to retreive the info you want. Good luck. [email removed by Zillow moderator]

Hi readyc,
In VA, we are still allowed access to public records at no charge, and many are online. You are able to hire a title search firm independently of a title company...at least in your area...Jim, American Bank

Contact a title company and they will do it for you for a fee. The companies that provide title searches to title companies often will only work with title companies as they don't have the ability to bill for just one search. Plus many municipal governments now charge for the title information. So one way or another you end up paying for the information.
