How did you buy your home? If it was a new home or many years ago your agent may no longer be in the business. Start the old fashion way, look in the yellow pages. Why the yellow pages, well because they will be laid out so you can see a large number of companies at a glance. If you go on line there are tricks an agent learns to get his name up front. Big names don't mean big service, talk to a few friends and walk into a couple of real estate offices. Don't take the first agent you talk to, but take a couple of weeks and talk with five or six agents. If you talk with an agent who has a team, will you ever get to talk with that agent again or will you be referred to one of the team members. Above all when you list your home make sure you can cancel the listing at anytime and owe nothing. If the agent tells you they will cancel the listing without any charge-get it on the listing.
