Depends if it is an auction property or not. If it is there should be directions on what site you need to go to. If its not then interview a few Real Estate agents to see who would be a good fit for you to help you out.

If you thinking about auction, most of the agents can help you or go onto the auction web side and register. However, fallowing the auctions, I can tell you that peoples usually pay more for the properties than they would normally. Auctions are things of the past. They are only good for commercial or bulk buying in today's market. Be prepare to give a big $ deposit on the spot and deliver the rest within few days.

There are several websites that allow consumers to bid directly.  If you are looking at a listing on one of those sites, you'll want to follow their directions.  Some do require you to use a credit card or other electronic funds for earnest money or a fee to bid.  If the directions on the site are unclear, several have 'Chat' options that are fairly helpful and most have a phone number you can call for assistance as well.

However, if you are referring to the majority of property you are seeing on Zillow, you will most likely need an agent.  I have experience placing bids on web-auctions as well as regular properties.  Feel free to contact me.

If its an auction, just follow the websites steps for that one.

If its a regular sale, get an agent. its free to use their services!
