Valorie, I watched this thread for a while to see if anyone even knew what a "Certificate of Approval" from the VA was. VA loans are not something that you can just pretend to give advice about and just wing it...You were the only person...Very good!

Yes, get pre-approved again if you're ready to start looking. Not all banks do VA loans, but I would still try to at least go to 2 banks at the same time to make sure both are saying the same thing -- a little checks and balances.

When you ask around for an agent, ask if they've ever worked with a VA loan or if they don't have a problem. Some agents aren't flexible and don't know or care to work with anything but a regular mortgage. You want to make sure you're working with someone professional and ready to take care of you through the whole process.

First do you have a Cretificate of Approval from VA. You then have to take that to the bank. Banks approvals are usually only good for max 6 months.

You should first get re-approved as many things "could have and did" change from 1 1/2 years ago. What I mean is things could have changed on your side and things definitely changed on the banking side.

So, get pre-approved again and find a local agent to help you find your home. Once you find the home, the agent, the lender, and all other professionals involved with close the transaction for you!
