If you have confirmed that a home is vacant, contact your prefered real estate consultant who can research public records for you. Sometimes the best way to find out information is to ask a neighbor of the home. If the neighbors do not know, your real estat professional should know how to reach people who can find out some information.

If you can, go to the local property tax assessors office and look it up.  Knock on doors and ask the neighbors what is up.  Hire a buyers agent - they have access to lots of info.
