as said before find yourself a buyers agent. If you are searching homes on certain websites, there is no option to show whether a property is under contract. However your buyers agent will keep you up to date about what is available within your criteria

Work with one agent and build a relationship, agents want to know your worth the work. I won't give up time with my family for every time a buyer I don't know wants me to jump.
I will jump for buyer's that I know are committed to me and buying a home.
Also, most agents should have a 3rd party multiple listing service that will provide you with active up to date information. I get calls on properties that have sold 12 months ago, but for the life of me have no idea why buyers still believe its accurate. With so many sources trying to access home data the data is not always accurate or updated.

The previous answers are correct, the key is to find an agent who is interested in working with you to find the perfect property as soon as it becomes available. We actually live and work in Sevierville, TN and will be happy to help. You can email me at jeff@gatlinburghomes.com if you would like our team to provide this free service for you.

I agree with Cindy. Get an agent to keep you updated on the activity.
Most homes that are 'under contract' will actively be posted online until the home closes as the deal could potentially fall apart prior to the closing.

Work with a Realtor who can get you the most up-to-date information. Lots of agents don't update their individual sites and other sites that "automatically" update have a delay in their update system.
how do you get a realitor to respond before homes are gone
