Zillow has always estimates only on line, if you need correct info you should hire surveyor from the city to measure the lot and check the property lines.

You can have Zillow correct the information by flagging the property and providing them with the information to update.

It is made possible via GIS mapping overlays. While accurate, it is not always perfect. I would say pretty cool technology, always room to improve though!
