This is a tough one. Your county tax office has information on the size of homes, but may not have any history of changes. There may also be some history of the tax appraisal, but that doesn't necessarily equal market value.

You can search your city's public records for building permits which may have information about additions or modifications, but not all changes are done with permits.

Your local MLS will have a very detailed history of sales that may go back 10 years or more, but for any specific property it will only have information if the home was sold during that time.

Your favorite real estate professional can put together an estimate of historical property values for a home based on MLS data, but may not have any information on changes in size.
