It is very hard but not impossible to get approved with a credit score of 585.  I have a buyer right now that is VA with a score of 580 and my lender has a program that is approving veterans.  However, not every person fits the eligibility/criteria.  speak with a lender who is well versed on all types of loans/programs to see your options. email me for a recommendation of a lender and/or Realtor.

It's possible, but not necessarily easy.  FHA in general will consider a loan with a middle score as low as 580, but you must meet all the other criteria too.  There are good lenders who also help with credit repair.  I would suggest you find one and see what can be done to improve your scores.  Generally, paying down high balances, disputing errors on your report and keeping things paid on time will help.  Do not pay off old collections or close any accounts, as this will lower your scores.
