Depending on the request, usually they respond within one business day; some things take a few weeks, especially if they have to send it to the data provider company for that area.
If you use the flags or "report a problem" on a home details page, make sure you request an E-mail response in your description, otherwise they will just review the issue and not give you any status update.
The better choice is to probably E-mail one of the Zillow customer service people, with their "contact me" button on their profile page. They have green Zillow tags next to their names.
Last few items I Emailed them on, I got a response within one hour, and the issue was addressed within 2 hours.
If it is a website issues instead of specific data issues, often other users have come up with work-around solutions that could be provided within an hour if posted on the discussion forum. But I don't recommend posting any personal information on the discussion forum.
If it is "research" for a publication or school project or personal use.... the answer may be on the Zillow blog, or you may need a special request for data from the research department. Often such "research" is already on the local info pages, and downloadable as excel files, so one should look there too.

well, that's consistent with my limited experience to date. thanks
Don't hold your breath is my advice. You will generally get a response from Zillow enthusiasts rather from Zillow which is extraordinary for a Nasdaq listed company who seem to think it's perfectly normal to outsource its customer service to a bunch of volunteers. Strange concept which I have difficulty understanding. And, god help you if your inquiry is anyway negative - not the done thing around here from my experiences.
how long does it take ZIllow to respond to a research inquiry?
