Anywhere from $10 - $25 per square foot.  Get 3 estimates and find out!

Heres a good source for material cost and installation estimates - http://tiny.cc/roofcost

Its pretty hard to say the exact price. Without knowing material and type of installation needed. Sometimes its easier to just get a bunch bids and pick the best one.

Obviously, freeroofguy, the question does not pertain to the St. Louis area.  Please read Zillow's policy of SPAM FREE answers before posting.

I just paid 12,500 for a total tear-off.  3 Layers with cedar shake shingle taken off.  30 year roof shingle.  Good luck!  I got about 10 estimates before I made a choice on contractor.

Just bid one really close to this square footage.

We had to tear off 2 layers of existing shake over shingle roofing.
Install new OSB roof sheathing.
40 year composition roofing = $13,000
50 year composition roofing = $14,000
