If anyone could predict such things they would be rich. The problems we are having have a lot to do with simple supply and demand. For more than 4 years the supply of property keeps increasing because of short sales and foreclosures and the demand is small because lenders have tight standards/the economy is difficult and people are just nervous.
Until these issues start to change it does not matter how nice the schools are, how close to transportation/ohara or anything else. Prices will stay this low or go lower.

Itasca is a strong town with great expressway and train access and close to O'hare. A very desireable place to live. The supply of homes here is usually in demand. Beyond that, we'll have to wait and see.
