they can not make you take money out of your 401k. they can only make you contribute money from savings that will not create a penalty.
You do not need to take money out of your 401k because that is not monthly income.
in order to qualify you need to have monthly income coming in not your 401k. Unless you have a very large 401k and the interest itself can pay your payment.
