Are you aware zillow has a rental section on line?

go to the left and check make sure the purple house is checked.
You can map an area, and bring up rentals and it is pretty good.
You can also go on to realtor.com as well.
or you can try inlandempire.craigslist.org.

I am not in that area but I have helped investors buy remotely.

I recommend trying to find the local news paper online and usually you can access the classified ads.  The other great resource is Craigslist.net. Call on a few places to get insight.
