Zillow does not give appraisals, but they do have lots of info like closed sales, past sales, neighborhood medians and Zestimates for most houses. You can get the Zestimate on every page, but I usually go to the front page here. Enter the address in the "Find Homes" box near the top of the page and hit the blue GO button. If Zillow has the house info, an overhead map with the address will come up. Click on the address for more house and neighborhood info. a Zestimate is not an appraisal, so if you need more information about your value contact a local realtor in your area for a CMA or hire an appraiser to help you. Hope the link helps.

Finding out how much your home is worth depends on many factors. If you'd like to know how much your home is worth in order to put it on the market you can: 1) Ask two or three listing agents to tour your home and give you their assessment of the value of your home; 2) You could pay a licensed appraiser (about $300) to come in and determine what your home is worth according to their guidelines; 3) or you can do some personal market research (visit open houses in your area, consider market conditions) and come up with your own assessment. Whatever route you select, if you're looking to put your home on the market, you may want to consider using the professionals (agents, appraiser) in order to get the most accurate assessment. I hope this helps.

There are many agents out there, most "specialize" in either working with buyer's or seller's. Some do it both ways, listing few properties a year.  Look for an agent that has "Listed" many properties in your area. Because you are a "Seller" you want an agent that has "Listed" a lot and has a grip on the local market.  That agent will know your market and will be able to give you a good Current Market Analysis of your property, giving you a listing price range for your property.  Buyer agents work hard, but many "Primarily" work with buyer's.  If you are buying, then that is the agent you want!  But, when you are listing, you want an agent that primarily "Lists" and will market and advertise your property aggressively.  Check out the remax.com web site, it is national, put in your town and see how many times the same agent comes up.  I always suggest to interview at least 3 agents.  Good luck!
