how much is the value of my home now?

I gutted the house and renovated it entirely with upgrades totaling $425,000.00. I initially replaced kitchen cabinets with Cherry wood and replaced the flooring with multi colored slate flooring as well as 3' marble countertops.   In the master bedroom I replaced the shower with slate floors and maharaja wood. floors.  A stall shower with steam and a separate independant copper bathtub basin.  I added an additional 5000 BTU Trane air conditioner in addition to the 3000 BTU Trane air conditioner already installed in the home.

Please contact a real estate professional, or an appraiser and they would be able to give you an estimate of value of your property based on comparable market analysis.

Fell free to contact me directly with any questions.

Best Regards,

Dear User:

You will need an appraiser or a Realtor physically look at your home and compare it to similar homes that have sold.

If you are thinking of selling give me a call. If you are thinking of refinancing your lender can get you an appraisal.

Call with any questions.

I would suggest the same as the other ladies. You could hire an appraiser to give you a value. You could also ask a local Realtor to give you a Comparative Market Analysis (CMA) which are typically free. This would give you an idea of price based on other properties that have sold in your area. Also, it is best not to build up a property over 25%. Sounds like you have done some very luxurious upgrades, just remember, you won't always get your money back on improvements!

As Jennie stated, you can contact a local Realtor® or appraiser to find out the value.  A lot depends on your area and what houses are selling for that compare to yours.  It sounds like you have done a great job but be aware that there is also such a thing as OVER upgrading.  Which means your house has more upgrades that the area and does not compare to the other homes.  It might take years to recover the costs if you did it for investment purposes.  If you did it for your own personal preference, enjoy it.

If you want to know the value of your improvements, you can have an appraisal done for your own purposes.  If you are considering selling the home, you can have a Realtor complete a Cost Market Analysis on the home to see the home through the eyes of a potential buyer.
