It's true in Hawaii we have many rural areas that have catchment system for water. Living off the grid is a GREEN dream. Lots of folks do it.

There aren't any public water systems in the area. This is rural Hawaii. The costs of installing and maintaining one right now would be prohibitive. Most people in the area use a catchment system where rainwater is diverted into a storage tank. Alternatively , you can have a large fiberglass or concrete tank installed very cheaply and have water trucked in. Sounds expensive, but it really isn't when compared with local public water system rates. And, you'll know exactly what's in your water.

Electric and phone service are at the property line. All you need to do is run the lines to your house, wherever it's placed on the lot.

There are no underground gas lines for the same reasons as described above for a water system. A residential propane tank will provide hot water and cooking gas for months.

The property IS buildable. One home, plus accessory outbuildings, is permitted on parcels within the subdivision. Hawaii County can provide information on setback requirements, and building permit costs.

Hello - The property is up about 2200' in elevation. Cools off nicely in the evening, yet stays comfortable. I think the average temp is about 75-80 degrees. Lots of people in the area growtropical flowers.
