how to protest an appraisal

I am trying to refinance my house but the recent apparaisal in my house does'n't look righ to me .It i les than what i purchased th house in 2004. How can i prove that appraisal in wrong.Please help me out

YOu can't protest and appraisal if the area did not have the % of increase over the past few years then the appraisal would be correct. It is based on what has sold in the past 6 months that all realtors and appraiser used for comparisons for your property
