I would put down 20% if possible unless you do not care about paying PMI or have a specific plan for that money.

Depends on your goals, are you wanting to avoid PMI or are you trying to get to a particular payment?

The lender is the place to get your answer but you need to find someone that knows the business and will work in your best interest. Not all Realtors or lenders are the same. I have a great lender that will give you good advice. Let me know if you want his information>>>

How much is the home worth 50 or 100K?
Work with a realtor, they don't cost you anything and they will be able to suggest how much you put down, Jim's answer is good.
Talk with your mortgage person and find out what type of loan you can get, this home might qualify for a usda loan, etc

Hi Elia,
If you can afford to put down 20% ($10,200) and the house appraises for more than the purchase price, you won't have to pay PMI (Private Mortgage Insurance).
Talk with an accountant and a mortgage broker to see what would work best for your situation.
