It seems unlikely it will qualify as your primary residence for the next 3 years under those circumstances.  If you are planning on making it your permanent legal address for 3 years it may be worth contacting the IRS and/or your tax accountant to make a determination.

Since it sounds like this is not your "main home", likely not. You can check out the IRS instructions for Form 5405 here, and it specifies the rules for applyng for the credit.
