YES! Even better than the $8000 tax credit of 2009. For first time home buyers. Read the articles on [deleted by Zillow moderator. Please see our Good Neighbor Policy for posting guidelines]. Be sure to register before you close on your home and dont let anyone talk you out of the MCC. All the information is on [deleted by Zillow moderator. The federal First-time Homebuyer Tax Credit for $8,000 is no longer available. It was extended for military members and certain other members of the federal government if their house was under contract by April 30, 2011 and settlement took place by June 30, 2011, according to the IRS website. Those tax credits should have been claimed last tax season.

Here in DC we just found out our popular $5,000 Homebuyer Tax Credit, which has been around since 1997 and was the model for the federal homebuyer tax credit, was for 2012 and 2013.

I think you would get the best answer speaking with one of the mortgage professionals right here on Zillo.  There are many programs available and I am sure there is something out there that will be a good fit for you!  Best of luck in your venture!

Since the first time program ended house prices have fallen MORE than the $8,000 that was offered. You are actually getting a better deal now compared to back then. It is even likely that future prices will go lower in most areas.

No. The federal first time buyers credit is expired, but some states have their own programs. There is a HUD page with first time buyer programs listed by state.

At this time the first time homebuyers tax credit is no longer available to first time homebuyers, however, if you serve in the military, this credit is available to you when filing your 2011 taxes.

Fortunately it is long gone.  It was very expensive to the tax payers, and didn't achieve the goal.
