Is it important to get a survey of the property before you buy it if the sellers cannot find theirs and the TownHall cannot find it?o the sellers have to inform you if a neighboring property has access to your land?

Hi Naesollien,

I would get a mortgage inspection done on the property.  This is usually required by your lender before they can finance the purchase of your property.  It will determine land boundaries and the location of buildings, sheds, fences and natural landmarks on the property.  Also, it will let you know of any encroachments and setbacks on your property as well as the proper zoning and building codes. Remember it may look good from the outside but you never know what the survey may "dig up".
