jacksonville, nc - is there possibilities to flip houses in this area?

i currently invest in buffalo, ny. son is stationed in jacksonville. i noticed a lot of foreclosures, whats up here? homes that sold 4 years ago selling for 60k less now. there must be something i don't  understand. any ideas realtors.   thanks jeff

House flipping can be done anyplace. But to do it you need a strong knowledge of costs, and values for each house. IF its a strong buyers market, you might consider buying  leasing fro awhile then flipping.

Hi Jeff,
We do have quite a few foreclosures on the market here. Foreclosures are actually outselling everything else on the market here, so there is a lot of competition for them. They typically end up selling over the list price after a bidding war. We also have a lot of short sales on the market.

Our market always seems a little behind the curve of what happens in the rest of the country. The market climbed later here, it stalled later here and hopefully we will recover here, just a little later than other places.
