Your profile says you are an agent so I am assuming that you are asking how to renew one of your own listings. The previous agent answered the question as if you were a home owner. If you are an agent, then you would want to fill out another listing agreement and have your client resign asap before another agent does. Some offices have extention forms, check with your manager. You should be in regular contact with the client (weekly or biweekly) so they would already be prepared to resign with you.

If you are a homeowner asking this question, my professional opinion is that your agent should have already been in contact with you to renew the agreement. If they havent, and you havent heard from the agent in a while then you may want to consider a new agent that is more pro active.

If you are looking to renew your listing with the same agent its just a matter of a phone call. But honestly any good agent would have been phoning YOU, well in advance and preparing to extend your listing if you desired.
