low zestimate will sabotage attempts to sell - what to do?

Profile picture for T.N.T.
I'm interested in listing on zillow.com, but feel the incredibly low zestimate will sabotage attempts to sell; neighbor's home has 10% higher zestimate despite being older w/ fewer updates & less land.  Any suggestions?

#1 - Claim your house on Zillow and update the facts. It will still show a Zestimate, but it can also show a "owner's estimate" (assuming some of the information is factually incorrect).

#2 - Don't sweat the Zestimate. Everyone should know that the Zestimate is just an automated estimate and may have in excess of +/-20% margin of error. Any decent REA should be able to defend a reasonable asking price with a CMA.
