my landlord told me that they are surrendering the house I am renting. now what does that mean to me

I looked up on the county recorder website. my landlord has a judgement against the house they live in, its the bank who has in againts them.

Your name says it all, sadly!  "Soon to move" is right--if your landlord is surrendering the house to the bank, that means your lease agreement is still enforceable, but most banks will "buy you out" of the agreement, by offering a move incentive.

Sounds like a foreclosure which means that you can either work out a deal with the lender to stay and you pay them directly, or they can make you move. It really depends on the terms of your lease and what's going on with the process, whether it's a foreclosure, short sale, etc.

You may be able to call his lender and find out. Different states, different rules.
