Christine,

this is all in public records.  Send me the address in an email, and I'd be happy to check the public databases for you.

DeKalb County in Atlanta GA, which is where I live, maintains an excellent online tax database that shows the owners of property by address and by tax ID.  BUT, you can not be sure someone is on title unless you look at the deed.  If this were an important decision, I would pay an attorney a couple hundred dollars to do a title search which will provide accurate and complete info about the chain of title for your property.

Check the deed.  It will be at the county seat or the registry   of deeds.  Each area   has a different name for it.

You need to see the deed. The deed, not the mortgage, shows the owner. If your county has online records it can be easy, if not you need to track down the deed at the county clerks office.

Good luck
