Profile picture for wonder123

yesterday i disputed several items on my equifax credit report and today i get a notification from experian alerts center that i have a hard inquiry.  it is from equifax dated 4-21-2010 and in the comment section it state:  conventional mortgage.  this inquiry is scheduled to continue on record until may 2010.  what on earth is going on all i did was dispute paid medical collections that creditors promised to remove once i made payment in full.  please someone advise me as to what to do asap!!! i will be needing to apply for a mortgage in the very near future so i am trying to get my report as spotless as possible before i do so

I hope you got that medical collection guarantee in writing?  it's really hard to advise you without all the facts, but the report should show you who the hard inquiry was from?  then you can contact them and dispute it.

Make sure you have all disputes removed from the tradelines prior to submitting a loan application.
You may not need to cure medical collections to obtian a home loan.if the collection company does not remove from your creidt report, I would avoid paying other collection untill required by lender.  it will hurt your credit score rather than help.

Contact each bureau specifically and talk with someone on why there is a hard inquiry. You can also go online to each bureau and dispute, or request to have it removed.
