purchasing a home that has been vacant for a year. How do I find out if there were any bids on it?

Profile picture for justsee
I want to purchase this property has been empty for a year now.  It has been on market for 88 days.  Can I find out if there has been any offers on it and if it fell through.  It has an ancient A/C. Getting ready to do inspection.  Scared something is wrong

Normally the lsiting agent would be your best source for this information however they are not required to disclose to you if one they don't have seller permission and or if they just don't know due to maybe a bank involvement.

If you are representing your self. It might be very difficualt to obtain this information and if you did go to contract you wouldn't have some representing your bbest intrests running market data and getting you teh best financing and price for the home. As an agent in a buyer agency our fee is paid by the sellers we work with it is free to you.

best of luck. hope I helped

The listing agent is your best source of information, however they are not required to disclose this to you.

Best of luck!

Hi Justsee:If you are representing yourself in the transaction it might be very difficult for you to obtain that kind of information. On the other hand, if you had a Realtor representing you, there is a strong possibility those answers could be obtained for you.Keep in mind as well, and Agent representing you on a transaction, in most cases, will not charge you at closing. His/Her fees will be paid by the seller of the property.

Another point is this, don't worry about what others have offered on the property. You have to make your numbers work for you. If your offer falls within your budget, Go For It...!!!

Good Luck.
