removing trees

Profile picture for redsoxgirl
We have just looked at a great house. It is on an acre of land and has a nice backyard. The only problem is that when they cleared out the yard, they left a lot of trees dotting the backyard. The trees are full sized. I have heard that having trees removed is incredibly expensive. Can anyone give me a ballpark idea of what that would cost? I have never lived in a one family and have NO idea! Thank you!

I hate to be vague, but the price can vary by where you live, the type of tree, the size of tree, the difficulty in removing it, etc. I hate to be vague with you, but, it kind of depends on a lot of things. I would call a tree service to get an estimate -- they are usually free.

I am going through the same issue with my house. I would go get as many quotes as possible. I have 2 trees that need to be removed and the quote range has been anywhere from $800 to $1,500 with full removal. Again it depends on where you are and how many services are bidding. Good luck.

I paid $300 per 35 ft Palm Tree, but they left the stumps to decay over time. There are things that can speed that process up. Make certain that whoever does the work has liability insurance that you verify covering the company doing the work (NOT the agent for the person doing the work). This protects you in case they drop a tree on your car or house, or hurt someone on your property while they are doing the work.
