Most municipalities have codes limiting the number of unrelated people who can live together in single family home. Check with your city department to know the laws, as well as what is required to have your property as a rental.

Talk to the code enforcement officer at your local city or town office. They should be able to tell you what is considered acceptable for you to do. You may have some changes to make for it to be able to legally rent it out. You also need to consider the septic systems ability to handle more people. If on city sewer this can be disregarded.
