there is a mistake on our listing how do we fix it?

it says our home sold for 60,000 in 2006 and this is incorrect.  this was a refinance in a divorce settlement.  its hurting the sale of our home and we need to know how to remove this incorrect information.  thank you

I don't think you can remove it from Zillow's database. This is one of the major issues with Zillow's valuations. They don't have the ability to distinquish an actual sale from events like yours, since they pull data from public records, and the public records don't distinguish the events, in a meaningful manner, that would be discernible by Zillow's data accumulation robots, or whatever they use.

How is it "hurting your sale"? Will some human being not believe the truth? Is some Lender using the misinterpretation by Zillow against you? The situation should be explainable to a human being with half a brain. Sorry you're having to deal with the problem. The Information Age is a pain sometimes.

Understand that exposure is what creates interest and action.  A FSBO home has a vary limited and narrow exposure to the buyers currently seeking homes.

I am not surprised you are experiencing a lack luster result. You are competing with homes being actively promoted on hundreds of websites by agents. While Zilow is very popular there are others that receive a significant amount of traffic.

If a buyer expresses interest in your home their agent may discourage them.  That's an entirely different topic, but a reality.

its hurting us because someone looking for sale by owner doesnt have an agent to explain this to them.....it looks like we bought the home for 60,000 and are now selling for 240,000....for the untrained person it looks suspicious and raises flags about the condition of the home in 2006......we have not had 1 single call on our home since we listed it!  we are very discouraged......i do however appreciate your compassion for our situation, thank you!

Zillow data has nothing to do with current real estate transactions. There is no way it can impact your sale.

Any experienced agent can explain to a buyer who raises an objection where that number came from.  That same informtion is available in the local court house.  You can't make it go away.
