The owner can add more details about the home that may have affected the value on Zillow. An owner does not have to be a REALTOR to do this to my knowledge. If you claim your home, you can add details and correct any inaccurate data that may help to give a more accurate value for your home.
With that being said, Zillow is not as accurate as many people think. Somewhere hidden on Zillow is where they disclose how accurate this website is.
I do not feel you are lost as to the truth of the values on Zillow. Instead, I think you have just discovered the ugly truth that sometimes Zillow is not accurate.

value of a home in my niegborhood
same neighborhood that are over 6000sf that are less how do you come up with the value. I know that the person who lives in the house in question is a Realtor can they or do they have input to the values here? I have kinda lost any thought to the truth of the values here.
